Name the action behind your broad goal
Become better at Japanese is a direction, but it does not identify the next task. Tell Mocchi something you want to do: explain a preference, ask about a schedule or describe a problem clearly. Include the situation and what a useful result would look like.
Give a realistic starting point and study time. A personal plan should fit the learner’s current circumstances rather than assume everyone needs the same activities in the same order.
| Japanese | Romaji | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 日本語で自分の考えを説明したいです。 | Nihongo de jibun no kangae o setsumei shitai desu. | I want to explain my thoughts in Japanese. |
Use a recent attempt to identify the next obstacle
Describe what you could do and where you needed help. Perhaps you recognized a word but could not recall it, understood a written question but missed it aloud, or gave an opinion without being able to explain why. These are different learning needs.
Mocchi can use available learning context, goals and selected weak points to guide the next task. Add a short clarification yourself when important context is missing rather than assuming every detail of every attempt is remembered.
Choose the study tool that fits the difficulty
Use /vocab or /kanji to understand a relevant word, flashcards to retrieve useful items, and /quiz to check a distinction. Use reading or writing work when the task needs understanding a text or forming a clear message. A focused /review can revisit a weak topic.
For a broader sequence, /plan can create a personalized plan, and /adjust-plan can adapt existing work. Explain why the change is needed. A review or quiz result informs the plan without automatically proving mastery.
| Japanese | Romaji | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 次は理由を説明する練習をしたいです。 | Tsugi wa riyū o setsumei suru renshū o shitai desu. | Next I want to practise explaining reasons. |
Make the goal usable in AI Sensei
Use /kaiwa to prepare a suitable voice topic or mission. Keep the speaking target small enough to attempt: explain one reason and answer one follow-up, for example. AI Sensei’s 3D teacher environment and natural-sounding voice provide a setting for the exchange.
The shared learning context can help connect conversation with current study. Choose a suitable speaking level and tell the tutor the specific target. Then listen and respond instead of only reading a prepared message.

Evaluate the attempt with a concrete question
Ask whether the listener could understand the intended message and whether you could respond when a detail changed. A correct quiz answer and a complete conversation show different aspects of the skill. Use both as evidence where relevant.
When a session report is available, review the useful correction or focus point. Bring one example to Mocchi and ask for the next focused task. Reports and estimates guide practice; they are not formal proficiency certificates.
Explain the next goal in your own words
State what improved and what you want to try next. Keep the next step connected with your purpose, and return to the skill later with new details. This helps a plan remain responsive rather than becoming a checklist disconnected from use.
Unihongo brings the learning work together: Mocchi supports a personal plan and study tools, while AI Sensei lets you use the language in a voiced exchange. Reading, writing, recall and conversation can all contribute to the same Japanese goal.
