Give the limit and the priority before comparing
Tell Mocchi the fictional spending limit and what matters in the outing. A learner who prefers a longer activity may explain a different choice from someone who wants a short nearby visit.
Use simple invented numbers. The exercise should make the language meaningful without becoming a complicated planning spreadsheet.
Read the amount together with its label
Use /vocab or /kanji for a complete cost expression that is unclear. Read the amount and say what it pays for. A correct number with the wrong label can still change the decision.
If a number expression needs recall practice, save a useful example card. Return it to a price sentence after the card attempt.
| Japanese | Romaji | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 交通費 | Kōtsūhi | Transport costs |
| 入場料 | Nyūjōryō | Admission fee |
Check included costs before comparing totals
Ask Mocchi for a short description of each option. Identify what is explicitly included and what remains unknown. Write a question about any missing cost.
Use /quiz to distinguish an activity price from a total. Explain which amounts belong together before choosing the answer.
For example, compare one fictional activity costing eight hundred yen plus transport with another costing one thousand yen including transport. Before deciding which is cheaper, identify the missing amount in the first option. Explain the question you need answered. The exercise rewards understanding the price description rather than treating the smallest visible number as the total.
| Japanese | Romaji | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| 交通費も含まれていますか。 | Kōtsūhi mo fukumarete imasu ka. | Are transport costs included too? |
Explain the choice in AI Sensei
Prepare a suitable everyday planning exchange through /kaiwa. In AI Sensei, explain which fictional option you prefer and give a reason. Listen to the other person’s question or changed detail.
If a new cost changes the comparison, revise the explanation. The aim is an informed exchange rather than defending the first option regardless of the information.

| Japanese | Romaji | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
| こちらのほうが安いです。 | Kochira no hō ga yasui desu. | This option is cheaper. |
Review the language behind a mistaken choice
If you added the numbers correctly but misunderstood what was included, target the inclusion expression. If the amounts were hard to hear, practise the relevant spoken-number distinction.
Bring the exact difficulty to Mocchi. Try another short comparison after review, changing a cost or included item so the new answer requires attention.
Transfer the comparison to another simple purchase
Compare two fictional class options or activity tickets next time. Read the labels, identify missing information and explain a preference.
Unihongo connects number study with reading and speaking. Mocchi helps organize the task, quizzes check the relationships, and AI Sensei gives the choice a listener and a follow-up.
